A Note from Laura…

upon being selected as 2011 Grandmasters Female Athlete of the Year

2011 Began my 26th year of triathlon racing and continue to love this sport. I never imagine I would still love to compete and continue to challenge myself. Racing on a local, national and world level with so many other amazing athletes keep me coming back!! I am so excited to receive this award again this year.

I am retired from teaching and currently have my own coaching business. I am blessed to be able to share my passion with my athletes. It mixes my love of teaching kids right into working with athletes. I still have to pinch myself to realize that doing what I love is one of the best things in life!

I am a new grandmother…so much fun! I have a newly engaged daughter and another one ready to graduate college in May 2013.

I hope to continue to be racing into my 80’s!

Thanks again to USAT for this incredible honor!
